ABOUT US
After working over 20 years with Attorney Elaine A. Shanebrook at Shanebrook & Falkowski Law Office, LLP, Andrew started his own new law firm in July of 2018 known as, Falkowski Law Firm, LLC. This is an exciting time for us as we recently moved from our long-time office in Suite 310 of the Centrum Building to Suite 240. Our phone number (262) 338-1750 remains the same, but we have updated our email and our website.
Andrew will continue to emphasize his practice in the areas of elder law, estate planning, and estate/trust administration. Our firm believes that every client we meet with deserves personal attention and service. To often when we review legal planning done by other attorneys we find excessive boilerplate wording and/or that our own clients do not even need or understand the documents they signed. Based on these experiences, we pride ourselves on drafting customized planning documents to meet the personal needs and goals of our clients, and yet always strive to make our finished product readable and understandable to our clientele.
ANDREW FALKOWSKI
Attorney / Owner
Andrew G. Falkowski has been practicing law in West Bend since 1998. He was a long time partner at Shanebrook & Falkowski Law Office, LLP from 2004-2018. In July of 2018 Andrew started his own firm, Falkowski Law Firm, LLC.
Education: Andrew attended West Bend East High School and graduated in 1990. He received his Bachelor of Science Degree from the University of Wisconsin LaCrosse in 1994, and his Juris Doctor Degree from Valparaiso University School of Law in 1998.
Professional Activities and Memberships: Andrew is Member of the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys (NAELA) and a Past President, Board Member and current Advisor of the Wisconsin Chapter of the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys (WI-NAELA). He is also a member of the State Bar of Wisconsin and serves as a Board Member on the State Bar Elder Law Section. He is also a member of the Washington County Bar Association.
Community Involvement: Andrew has been active in various local events and organizations. He was a graduate of the City of West Bend Leadership Program in 2000, a past member of the Kiwanis noon club and has served as a Director of the local Red Cross Board. Andrew is also serving as a citizen member of the City of West Bend Administrative Appeal Review Board.
Personal: Andrew and his wife, Sara, and daughter, Sydney, live in West Bend. Outside of the office Andrew enjoys spending time with family and friends, landscaping and gardening, fishing (especially for trophy walleye), cooking, and is an avid fantasy football and sports fan (Green Bay Packers, UW Badgers, Milwaukee Brewers and Bucks).

Paralegal/Office Manager
Joan Oelhafen worked at Shanebrook and Falkowski Law Office for many years as a paralegal. She has worked with Attorney Falkowski for almost 20 years. She is currently our Sr. Paralegal and Office Manager. Most of Joan’s work involves assisting with probate and trust administrations, processing non-probate assets, setting up and coordinating special needs trusts (like WisPACT), and she also helps develop, coordinate, prepare and file our clients Medicaid (Title 19) and Family Care applications. Joan lives with her husband in Allenton, WI.

Patience Burghaus works at Falkowski Law Firm as Attorney Andrew Falkowski’s Legal Assistant. She received her education from Moraine Park Techincal College. Her work involves assisting Attorney Falkowski in client matters involving estate planning, processing non-probate assets, business, and real estate transactions. Patience lives in Campbellsport with her husband and children.

Legal Assistant/Receptionist
Melissa Winiger worked as an administrative assistant in the manufacturing industry prior to coming to Falkowski Law Firm. She earned her Associates Degree in Paralegal studies from Milwaukee Area Tech College. Melissa works as a Legal Assistant, as well as acts as the firm’s receptionist. Melissa enjoys assisting in all the aspects of Estate Planning. She currently lives in the West Bend area.
